A missed opportunity in obsessive behavior.

It’s damn shame The West Wing missed out on the era of the recap. It can’t be denied that right now we are in a particularly exciting era, where an episode of television does not end on the hour, but lives on through comments, blogs and recaps. The West Wing was robbed of this chance. And I believe that missing this opportunity to be dissected and digested by carnivorous viewers is a shame, and has sent the West Wing into relative obscurity.

I seek to change this. Why should The West Wing miss out on the pinnacle fan obsession because it was a few years ahead of the curve? My idea is to watch The West Wing, week by week, and recap, rehash and relive every moment as if the show was airing today, in 2010.

I know there are a few issues, the first being that I’ve already seen every episode of the West Wing, and more than once. The second is that I’ll probably be the only one doing the watching and discussing. But no matter - I want my chance to love each line, each speech, each bill and each episode.

I think this could be really fun.
